Few UK Marinas
welcome residential craft other than diminutive
narrowboats and the occasional Dutch Barge.
Port Werburgh, where the largest boat is currently
a 150ft converted turbine gunship however, has
been purpose-designed and built to cater specifically
for the needs of the live-aboard owners providing
a range of services and facilities second to
none.
The port has been constructed and is managed
by Residential Marine Limited. The owner, Denis
Swann, his wife Jill and son Jake live at Port
Werburgh on their boat, Anserava. They play an
active role in the management of the company
and are dedicated to seeing that these residential
moorings offer the best value in England.
The port itself has 100 comfortable berths with
all facilities available. The wide access pontoons
are well lit at night. All berths have four
strong steel piles at each corner to which a
vessel can be securely moored. They are also
suitable as warping points making it easier
to manoevre. There is ample landscaped carparking
adjacent to the pontoons.
Set in rural, landscaped surroundings with a
woodland backdrop, the site is already home
to a range of unique vessels ranging from historic
lightships and ex-naval craft to coasters and
tugs offering more accommodation than the average
detached house.
